Coalport John Rose part dessert set, circa 1800. Polychrome painted with rosettes of flowerheads in bright colours, in the Oriental manner. It consists of a sauce tureen and lid, a large table tazza, three oval side dishes, ten dessert plates. The tazza measures 13.25″ long and stands 5.25 ” high, the dessert plates are 8.25″ in diameter, the oval dishes are each 11″ long. The sauce tureen measures 7.25″ across handles and stands 5″ high. It is in pretty fair condition. One plate has a small edge chip. There is wear to the gilding, mainly on edge of the plates. A beautiful set.
Provenance : The previous owners were the descendants of the Archduke Franz Ferdinand.
