An Ashworth Brothers “real Ironstone china” Japan pattern 10″ diameter crested dinner plate, circa 1885. Decorated with a gilded center field within a cobalt blue scrolling foliate and floral decorated border. There is a cartouche within the border of the plate inscribed “A Birthday Gift to My Beloved Daughter 15th October 1885” and opposite a cartouche within the border showing the coat of arms of some Scottish nobility. The plate shows a printed and an impressed Ashworth’s mark, and pattern number 1304. Nice condition, no damage noted.
