A blue and white transfer printed platter by Wood and Brownfield, 1838-50, of Cobridge Staffordshire, decorated with a Chinoiserie design titled “Madras” (?). It measures 18.25″ by 14″. On the rear it shows a printed makers mark with the pattern name, “MADRAS” and the maker’s initials, “W & B”. The platter is in nice bright condition with no damage noted.
