B855 A Feldspathic Sowter, Mexborough Teapot with Hinged Lid
Ref: B855
Date: 1810
Quantity: 1
Dimensions: 9.5
Price: $225
An early nineteenth century feldspathic Sowter, Mexborough type teapot with hinged lid, c. 1810. It is decorated with acanthus leaves and classical scenes. Currently the lid has a wooden hinge when I think originally it would have had a metal one. (Easy to replace). It has no makers marks. It measures 9.5″ long. There is a circular crack on the underside of the lid, and the glazing is poor. No other damage.
