A blue and white transfer printed vegetable dish and cover from “Godwin’s Indian Scenery Series” showing the Taj Mahal inside the body. The scene on the lid has not been identified. Made by T & B Godwin of Burslem, circa 1834. It measures 12.25″ long by 9.25″ wide and it stands 6″ high. It has a makers mark in the form of a cartouche showing the name of the scene and the initials “T&B G”. There is a chip to the foot of the body, one inch hairline crack underneath one handle and a small chip under the other. The lid seems OK.
