A blue and white transfer printed center bowl from “Godwin’s Indian Scenery Series” showing a scene of the City of Lucknow on its outside and the Taj Mahal inside the body. Made by T & B Godwin of Burslem, circa 1834. It measures 10″ long by 9″ wide and it stands 5.25″ high. It has a makers mark in the form of a cartouche showing the name “City of Lucknow” , the scene on the outside and the initials “T&B G”. There is a 0.6″ chip to the top edge of the body at one end. This is quite a rare piece needs to be in a collection, despite the chip.
