A high quality hand painted 19th century botanical dessert service comprising of twenty three pieces. There are two comports, 4″ high and 9.5″ long, two oblong footed dishes, each 11.5″ inches long, a single handled circular dish, 9.5″ long, a two handled oval dish 11.5″ inches long, and seventeen 9″ diameter plates. Each piece is beautifully painted with a botanical subject within a deep red border with raised gilded floral raised design. They show a pattern number ” No 3/no7590y” on the reverse and a registration mark for 1854. The serving pieces are in good condition. Of the seventeen plates there is a little wear to the gilt around the edge of the center. There are three that have tiny nibbles to the underside rim and one has a 2″ hair line crack showing on the underside of the rim.
