A fine transfer printed part dinner service by Minton and Boyle decorated in sepia with a romantic scene of a church with a foliage decorated border. Devon Pattern circa 1836-41. It consists of twelve 10.25″ plates, seven 9″ plates, seven 8.75″ plates, one 19″ platter, two 13″ platters, two 10.5″ platters, two 9.75″ platters, an open vegetable dish, two sauce tureens, lids and bases and two gravy boats and bases. Each has a printed Minton and Boyle mark on reverse, a cartouche with the pattern name within and the maker’s initials below. All pieces are in nice condition. There is a stain on the bottom of one sauce tureen otherwise no damage noted. A good quality set.
