A Copeland Camilla pattern light brown transfer printed and clobbered bone china platter. It has brown transfer printed borders that have inter spaced scroll work and floral reserves that are over painted in red, pink, brown and highlighted with gilt. The central floral motif is over painted with red, pink and brown with gilt highlights. Great example of clobbered transferware.
The platter measures 19.25″ long 14.75″ wide. It has both Copeland printed and impressed marks (1848 to 1867) and has a painted pattern number, 5469.
The platter is in good condition, no chips nor cracks. It has scuff marks on the back from usage. There is a spur mark on the front from its manufacture.
