An early 19th century ironstone meat platter, 17.3″ long b y 13″ wide; together with a matching drainer, 13.75″ long by 9.75″ wide. Circa 1850. Hand painted decorated with a large bird on a tree stump surrounded by multicolored foliage. There is a printed cartouche on the reverse of each piece with the words “Opaque China”, but we are not quite sure of the maker. There is a little overall wear to the painting but no other damage noted.
