B700b A Blue and White Transfer Printed Coffee Pot of Classical Form
Ref: B700b
Date: 1830
Quantity: 1
Dimensions: 10.25
Price: $375
A large deep blue and white transfer printed coffee pot of classical form, decorated with a picture of nymphs playing with a lion. Made between 1825 and 1835. It stands 10.25 ” high. The maker is William Smith and Co of Stockton on Tees. There is a large picture of the same pot, with a different scene, on the back of the dust jacket of my copy of “The dictionary of blue and white printed pottery, by Coysh and Underwood”. This is a fine piece with no damage noted. A beautiful quality piece.
