An “Improved Stone China” Dinner Service by Minton and Hollins in their “Japanese” pattern “, circa 1830 – 1840. The pieces are decorated in the center with leaves and flowers within a border of flowers with four panels showing the same design as the center. Each piece has a makers mark with the makers initials below a cartouche showing the pattern name and pattern number 6891 and an impressed “New Stone”. It consists of:
Thirteen 9″ plates
Fourteen 10.25″ dinner plates
Nine 10.25 soup plates
A platter 19″ long by 15″ wide
A platter 17.25″ long by 14″ wide
Two platter 10.75 long
Two platters 13.5′ long
Two circular vegetable dishes and covers
A gravy boat
Two sauce tureens and trays
Three open dishes.
