A pair of Staffordshire tortoiseshell glazed creamware plates, Wheldon type, c1770,  the border molded with basket weave pattern, 9.5″ dia. A close examination shows some fine surface scratches , one plate has a fine hairline on the back rim which dos not show from the front, but there is no other damage
